Symptoms of Stress & Anxiety

The symptoms of stress and anxiety overlap considerably and include physical, cognitive, and behavioural symptoms. Among the possible physical symptoms are muscle pain and tension, gatrointestinal upset, heart palpitations and fatigue. Cognitive symptoms are experienced as difficulty with focusing attention and concentrating, and perhaps problems with short-term memory. Behavioural symptoms of concern are withdrawal from family and friends, difficulty completing tasks, and reliance on medication, alcohol, or repetitive behaviours to help soothe distress.

Although the symptoms of stress and anxiety are similar, stress and anxiety are different  problems and therefore different treatment approaches are required.
